Where your Facebook leads go by default
When someone submits a Facebook or Instagram Instant Form, the lead is stored in your Meta account, not sent to you. You can see it in Meta Business Suite's leads area, or download it from the form in Ads Manager. Unless you've connected something, nobody gets an alert, and nobody calls.
That's why so many businesses say "Facebook leads are junk." Some are, but a lot of them are real people who never got a call while they were still interested.
Four ways to get Facebook leads called fast
1. Meta's own notifications
Meta Business Suite can notify you about new leads. It's free, but it's easy to miss, and it still needs someone to stop what they're doing and call.
2. Your CRM's Facebook integration
Many CRMs (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, and others) can pull Facebook leads in automatically and start a workflow, like texting you or assigning the lead to a rep. Good if you already live in a CRM, but someone still has to make the call.
3. Zapier or Make
Use the "Facebook Lead Ads: New Lead" trigger to send each lead anywhere: a text to your phone, a row in a spreadsheet, or a webhook to another tool. This is the most flexible option and works on Zapier's free plan for low volume.
4. Send leads to an AI receptionist that calls them
Point the lead (through your CRM, Zapier, or a direct connection) at an AI receptionist, and it calls the person within seconds of them hitting submit. It mentions what they asked about, answers questions, and books the appointment on your calendar. No one on your team has to drop anything.
Setting it up with Zapier, step by step
- Create a Zap with the trigger Facebook Lead Ads → New Lead, connect your Facebook account, and pick your Page and form.
- Add the action Webhooks by Zapier → POST.
- Paste the URL you want leads sent to (with InstantClose AI, that's your private lead address), set the payload type to JSON, and leave the data fields empty to send everything.
- Test it with Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool, then turn the Zap on.
Don't skip the consent line on your form
If you'll call leads with an AI or automated technology, your Instant Form should say so. In the form editor, open Privacy policy and add a custom disclaimer such as: "By submitting this form, you agree that [Your business] may contact you at the number provided by phone call and text message, including calls and messages made with automated technology or an AI voice, about your request. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
Tips for better Facebook leads
- Use the "Higher intent" form type. It adds a review step before submitting, which cuts down on accidental and junk leads.
- Ask one qualifying question on the form (like project type or timeline) so the first call can get right to it.
- Call within minutes. Facebook leads come from people scrolling. The longer you wait, the less they remember filling it out.
Questions
Why are my Facebook leads so bad?
Some are junk, but many are real people who weren't called quickly enough and lost interest. Calling within minutes, using a higher-intent form, and adding one qualifying question usually improve results a lot.
Can I get Facebook leads without Zapier?
Yes. Many CRMs have a built-in Facebook lead integration, and some lead-response services can connect to your Page directly.
Do Instagram lead ads work the same way?
Yes. Instagram lead ads use the same Instant Forms and land in the same place in your Meta account, so the same setup covers both.
